Disqualification Reasons

Below are some of the reasons why an individual might be terminated from the selection process. A more extensive list ca be obtained from Human Resources:

Failure to meet the following minimum qualifications:

• Under eighteen (18) years of age
• Not a U.S born or naturalized citizen
• Lack of a GED or high school diploma
• Not willing to work a particular shift
• Received a dishonorable discharge from any of the Armed Forces of the United States

Failure to successfully complete any of the following:

• Reading comprehension
• Physical fitness test
• Interview
• Polygraph exam
• Background investigation
• Psychological exam
• Medical exam and drug screen

Drug History:

• Marijuana use within the last year
• Illegal possession or use of Schedule I or II drug(s)
• Sale of any drugs

Criminal History:

• Any felony conviction
• Misdemeanor conviction within the past two (2) years
• More than one DWI, or any DWI in the past five (5) years
• Domestic violence conviction

All information obtained during the selection process will be kept confidential. In the event that your application is disqualified, NPSO is under no obligation to reveal the reason for said disqualification.
